For me, a casual summer outfit consists of a dress, a small purse, a pair of sandals and some accessories. Some think I don’t go outside without being extra because I wear dresses most of the time but truth is, I’m not wearing dresses just to be stylish or extra. I find it so comfortable to wear, especially on days when the heat is just too much. Apart from that, wearing a dress saves me time to mix and match as it can stand alone and be stylish by itself.

I’m wearing one of my favourite casual summer outfit for today’s look and I only spent less than $100 for the whole outfit (bag excluded). If you want to see how I did it, feel free to move along.

Casual Summer Outfit Under $100

Let’s start off with, of course, the dress. I scored this gorgeous dress for only $33 at Forever 21. The fit is perfect and is not so tight on the stomach area so those who aren’t a fan of wearing fitted clothes will surely love this dress. The shoulder straps are completely adjustable plus, it has pockets!! We, girls, don’t get to find a lot of dresses that have pockets so this one is definitely a catch.

I was originally wearing a cardigan (which I had for years), but I got too warm so I ended up wearing the dress as it is. If you remember one of my blog posts a month ago, I mentioned that I’ve always been insecure in showing my arms. I am still slowly overcoming that insecurity but I’ve learned a couple of tricks in wearing sleeveless clothes since then. This dress in particular has a v-neck with self-tie closure which makes the focus less on the arms and more on the curves.

For my footwear, I decided to ditch my usual flats and wore a pair of brown sandals I got for $15.50. It was my first time wearing a toe thong sandals so the first few minutes of wearing it was a bit odd. I immediately became comfortable in wearing it and since then, it has been my go-to footwear except when I work.

I also added a few accessories to make this casual summer outfit more stylish. I decided to add more colors by wearing a red hairband and red and gold bangles. The headband cost me $6.90 while the set of bangles cost $9.90. All in all, this whole look only cost me around $66 which is way below $100.

To complete this casual outfit, I used this super cute hexagon rattan bag from Cesca Handcrafted Styles for $35. Purchasing this bag, along with the outfit, will make us go over the budget by $1 but Cesca Handcrafted Styles is currently having a clearance sale so you might be able to score this bag for a cheaper price.
